Wuhai () is a small city (since 1976) and regional center in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.
It is located on the Huang He between the Gobi and Ordos deserts at 39° 39′ northern latitude and 106°, 41′ east of Greenwich.
Rock art in six places at the foot of the Zhouzhi Shan (Mount Zhouzhi) has been dated back to the Xia, Shang, and Zhou Dynasties, the Warring States Period, and the Han Dynasty.
In 1991, the population of Wuhai was 264,081.
The city's economy is based on coal mining, electric power generation, metal-working and chemical industries, as well as fruit (grapes) and dairy farming.
Wuhai is located on the Baotou-Lanzhou rail line, an airport
has been opened in 2003.
