Wu Guanzheng

Wu Guanzheng (吳官正; pinyin: Wú Guānzhèng) (b. 1938) is the head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and ranked 7 out of 9 on the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China. He is known to have good relationships with both President Hu Jintao and former President Jiang Zemin. Some sources consider him to be Hu's ally, while other consider him to be Jiang's. As a result, he is sometimes included in the list of people in the Shanghai clique.

Wu was born in Jiangxi Province and joined the Communist Party of China when he was 21. He graduated with a degree in thermal engineering from Qinghua University in 1968.

Wu was mayor of Wuhan from 1983 to 1986. He became the governor of Jiangxi in 1986. He moved to Shandong in 1997 to become the party chief of the province and was made a full member of the Politburo the same year.
