The William Brown Library is a library situated in Liverpool, UK on William Brown Street . Designed by Thomas Allom , with modifcations by John Weightman , the library opened in 1860. It was damaged in the Second World War and rebuilt with some additions of debatable quality.
It was originally built to house the Earl of Derby's natural history collection. It now houses Liverpool Central Library and Liverpool Museum. The most striking feature is the rotunda, that forms the Picton reading room .
