Wady Mandhur is one of the two main tributaries which enter the Jordan River between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. (The other being the Jabbok or Wady Zerka.)
The Wady Mandhur, called the Yarmuk by the Rabbins and the Hieromax by the Greeks, formed the boundary between Bashan and Gilead. It drains the plateau of the Hauran.
