John Trevor Eyton O.C., Q.C., B.A., LL.B., LL.D. (July 12, 1934) is a Canadian lawyer, businessman, and senator.
Born in Quebec City, Quebec, he was educated at Beaupré Public School and Jarvis Collegiate Institute. In 1957 he received his B.A. from the University of Toronto and his LL.B. from the University of Toronto Law School in 1960.
From 1979 to 1990 he was President and CEO of Brascan. From 1990 to 1998 he was Chairman and Senior Chairman of Brascan Ltd.
From 1996 until 2001, he was the chancellor of the University of King's College in Halifax.
He is chairman of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame .
He has served on the boards of directors of numerous public companies in Canada, the United States and Europe.
In 1985 he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
In 1990 he was appointed by Brian Mulroney to the Senate.
In 1955 he married Barbara Jane Montgomery. They have five children: Deborah Jane, Susannah Margaret, Sarah Elizabeth, Adam Tudor and Christopher Montgomery.
