Theresa Frances Veronica Burke (Born Amy Lauren Gardener, May 11, 1956 in Toronto) is a Canadian writer, journalist and producer for the CBC's "the fifth estate". Canadian bank robber Ty Conn, the only person in the last four decades to escape over the wall from the Kingston Penitentiary, one of Canada's most secure and notorious prisons, shot himself while speaking to her on the telephone on May 20, 1999. She co-authored Who Killed Ty Conn with Linden MacIntyre .
She is an ex-model and has been romantically linked to Canadian actor Keifer Sutherland, writer Rick Salutin [they have a child together] and computer scientist Chris McKinstry.
