The Station Agent is a 2003 US independent film about a dwarf who moves to live in an abandoned train depot in rural New Jersey to live a life of solitude. Written and directed by Thomas McCarthy .
Finbar McBride (Peter Dinklage) inherits some land property with a train depot on it after his friend and also owner of the model train shop where Fin works, Henry (Paul Benjamin ) dies. Fin moves out to the train depot and wishes for a life in peace. He finds himself reluctantly becoming enmeshed in the lives of his neighbors, especially Olivia (Patricia Clarkson), a forty-year-old artist who has troubles with her broken up marriage, and Joe (Bobby Cannavale ) a thirty-year-old latino who is working in his dad's hot dog stand for the summer.
