Biography
They formed in the San Francisco area in 1983. They were originally known as Legacy, but after three years and a few band member changes, they changed their name to Testament when recording their first album, The Legacy because another band held a copyright to the name "The Legacy".
They have released a number of other albums, including Live at Eindhoven, The New Order, Disciples of the Watch, Practice What You Preach, and Souls of Black. They toured with Slayer, Megadeth, and Suicidal Tendencies in 1990 on the 'Clash of the Titans' tour.
Guitarist Alex Skolnick left the band after their 1992 album, The Ritual, to join Savatage. Since then, the band has had many members come and go.
Eric Peterson has stated that he would like to do another album with Skolnick, Clemente, and Christian.
