Tarragona (province)

Tarragona is a province of eastern Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is bordered by the provinces of Castelló (Spanish: Castellón), Teruel, Saragossa (Spanish: Zaragoza), Lleida (Spanish: Lérida), Barcelona, and the Mediterranean Sea.

The province's population is 631,156 (2002), of whom about one-fifth live in the capital Tarragona. Some cities and towns in Tarragona province include Constantí , Reus, Falset, El Vendrell, Tortosa, Amposta. See also List of communities in Tarragona and Comarques of Catalonia.
