Talk:Penkyamp

This article is deleted. Please see also the archive of the discussion at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Penkyamp and Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Gwohngdongwaa_pengyam.

I do not quite understand why the entry was removed. There are 239 entries on Google while searching with the commands " -Wiki -Wikipedia -Encyclopedia -"Open Dictionary" -encyclopedie -JnanaBase -askfactmaster -OpenFacts -"knows-everything" -eurofreehost -subdomain -exsudo -asiaosc -webster -anarchopedia -dictionary -wikiverse -masterliness -neohumanism -chinadaily -homesteading101 -thebestlinks -enlightenweb -methowriverhouse -wikisearch -jiggies -"informationdepot" -findfox ". [1]

In contrast only 21 for Gwohngdongwaa Pengyam, which are all under a single domain. [2]

And this article says Penkyamp is a input method base on Cantonese pronunciation.

And this table has a comparison with other romanisation, including Meyer-Wempe and Jyutping.

This list of Cantonese proverbs (taken from Wikiquotes) uses Penkyamp as well.

A contributor on this message board mentioned about Penkyamp.

This article on Tongwa Romaji, also a romanisation system, mentioned Penkyamp.

This blog in German mentioned Penkyamp.

It doesnt need to just exist. It needs to be in widespread use. --Jiang 10:57, 25 Jan 2005 (UTC)
You also said "This is crap" and "does not exist" at Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Hong Kong Government Cantonese Romanisation, which is not the case. - 11:24, January 25, 2005, UTC

Unfortunately, all the examples quoted above are derived works of Wikipedia. When something have appeared on Wikipedia for more than a year, people assume its validity. I have spent five months to find a solid reference unrelated to Wikipedia without success. Please read the discussions. If you can find any solid reference, please tell me and I will fight for undeleting the article. -- Felix Wan 20:43, 2005 Jan 25 (UTC)
