If you like tripped out layers of guitars and keyboards and complimented with an array of dazzling synths, then you'll like System 7. In the Us/Canada they are known as 777.
To shine a spotlight on these guys here's a little info on one of their albums.
In 1995 they released a double album entitled System 7.3 Fire+Water. It consists of two cds packed with touches of all the lighter sides of the dance genre, and yet in some parts you forget that it's a dance record.
Something more important about this album, are the collborations. Legendary fusion guitarist Steve Hillage is all over the album, on the fire (more upbeat side) and the water (chilled out remixes and ambient treatments), dipping into the back of the mind and drawing out groovy space-aged guitar work. He also does work with keyboards and programming.
Laurent Garnier - Dj and producer elite! (keyboards and programming)
Derrick May (keyboards/programming) is also on the record, he was quoted as being "The Godfather of Techno".
Lewis Keough (a devout member of Orb).
Marshall Jefferson (one of the first house djs/producers on the planet!)
Carl craig, YOUTH (killing joke),
Miquette Giraudy (formally in Gong, also collaborated with our man Steve Hillage)
Mickey Mann engineer/production
Greg Hunter engineer/production
Juno Reactor additional production
The drum club (for the tribal freaks)
Some names anyway to search up on, if you aren't familar with them.
the record is a must have, especially for fans of Steve Hillage's guitar work.
