Sochaux is a town and commune of eastern France, located in the Doubs département, near Montbéliard. Population (1999): 4,552.
Economy
Sochaux is the site of a large industrial facility of the French vehicle constructor PSA Group (owner of Peugeot and Citroën). Currently about 16,000 people are employed there.

The FCSM (Football Club Sochaux-Montbéliard) football team is currently playing in Ligue 1.
The town is home to the Musée de l'Aventure Peugeot (automobile museum).
