Serbian presidential election

The Serbian presidential election process has failed to produce a new leader, despite three rounds of voting in recent years.

In 2003, opposition candidate for the Serb Radical Party Tomislav Nikolić got the plurality of votes (46,37%) while the ruling candidate, the Democratic Opposition of Serbia's Dragoljub Mićunović and current president of the parliament of Serbia and Montenegro, got 35,43%. This means that only 18% of registered voters cast a vote for Tomislav Nikolic, 14% for Dragoljub Micunovic, 4% for Velimir Ilic, and 3% voted for other candidates. About 65% of registered voters did not vote for any presidential candidate at all.
