The Sender Zehlendorf (Transmitter Zehlendorf) is an important longwave and mediumwave transmission facility near Zehlendorf near Oranienburg, Brandenburg (northly of Berlin). The most important transmitter is a longwave broadcasting transmitter on 177 kHz with a power of 500 Kilowatts.
As aerials are used a reusen aerial on a 359.7 metre tall guyed mast, which replaced a similiar guyed mast collided after a plane collision on May 18th, 1978 and an aerial in form of a triangle hung on three 150 metres high guyed masts and a reusen aerial for mediumwave.
In order to acceleate the reconstruction of the mast destroyed after a plane collision on May 18th 1978, the area in a radius of 300 metres of the site was made to Russian territory. So Russian securities could be used, which were not so restrictive and allowed a faster construction of the mast.
