Sant Cugat del Vallès (pop. 52,654 as of the year 2000), is a town west of Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia. The town has grown a lot the last years because of the high number of births. In fact, it has had more births than bigger cities like Barcelona in 2004 .The most important monument in the city is it's medieval monastery.
The town has other relevant buildings as the UPC architectural faculty and the CAR ("Centre d'Alt Rendiment" or High Performance Centre), a famous centre for profesional sport training.
