A samosa is a South Asian food item. It is a fried food. It generally consists of flour and potatoes and is triangular in shape. It is spicy and is often eaten with chutney.
Samosas originated in North India and are common throughout India and Pakistan.
The samosa resembles the knish of Ashkenazic Jewish cuisine, although there is no known historical link between the two.
