Salmond Hall is one of the halls of residence of the University of Otago in New Zealand.
The hall was opened in 1971, originally to accommodate woman students, and was initially run in parallel with the nearby Knox College. It became a coeducational facility during the 1970s. The hall is still governed by Knox, reflected by the fact that the college and hall are incorporated as The Council of Knox College and Salmond Hall.
Like most of the University's halls of residence, Salmond does not operate a true collegiate structure in the Oxbridge sense; it is primarily dormitory accommodation for students.
The hall was named after James Salmond , a lecturer at Knox College.
