Saab 9-5

The Saab 9-5 is an automobile made by Saab. It was introduced in 1997 as the new high-end automobile. It is in the same class as the Saab 9000. During 1998 both the 9000 and 9-5 were sold, but from 1999 the 9-5 replaced 9000 entirely. The sedan's cw value is 0.29. There is also a station wagon (estate) version.

The high powered version of the 9-5 is the Aero, the current form producing 250 hp (186 kW) and 258 ft·lbf (349 Nm) of torque.

Badged as a 95, Saab consistently advertises it as the 9-5.

The 9-5 is powered by Saab's B204 and B234 straight-4 turbo engines, and was also powered by the GM 54° V6 and Isuzu's DMAX Diesel V6.

The 9-5 should not be confused with the Saab 95.

The 9-5 will be replaced by 2008 with a 9-4 based on the GM Epsilon platform or a larger 9-6.
