Avery was a Death Eater during Voldemort's first reign of terror, but avoided being brought to justice by saying he was acting under the Imperius Curse. After he rose again, Voldemort punished Avery with the Cruciatus Curse for his disloyalty.

Regulus Black is the younger brother of Sirius Black. The Black family was a family of dark wizards. According to Sirius Black, his parents believed that to be Black made you practically royal and shared many of the Death Eaters' ideas about blood purity. Unlike his older brother Sirius, Regulus had a similar mentality to them, and for that reason it seems he was the favourite son of their mother.

When Lord Voldemort rose to power, Regulus joined him and his parents thought he was a little hero for becoming a Death Eater. When he had gotten in too far, and started to realize what was expected of him as a Death Eater, he began to panic and wanted to quit, but being a Death Eater is a lifelong service on pain of death. According to soucers, Regulus was killed on Voldemort's orders.

He fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and is currently in Azkaban prison.

Grindelwald

Loyalty Himself
Film portrayer None
First appearance None

Grindelwald was a Dark wizard before Lord Voldemort and his only mention is on Albus Dumbledore's Chocolate Frog card which notes that he, that is to say Dumbledore, defeated Grindelwald in 1945.

It has been speculated that, since the date corresponds precisely with the end of World War II, there may be a connection between Grindelwald and Adolf Hitler. Some fanfiction authors try to expand Grindelwald's character, and to tie him in with the present-day characters. It is unclear whether Grindelwald will be significant in any way in the upcoming books, but the current presiding wisdom is that he is most likely long dead and/or destroyed.

He also served as one of Voldemort's envoys to the giants, and it seems he helped to persuade them to join forces with the Death Eaters. He also fought in the battle in the Department of Mysteries in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

(For example, Rookwood was an old friend of Ludo Bagman's father, and Bagman passed him information, apparently quite innocently.) Igor Karkaroff named Rookwood during his own trial, and Rookwood was sent to Azkaban but escaped in the mass breakout of January 1996. Rookwood fought in the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.

Evan is Greek and means "of noble birth," appropriate for a typical Death Eater with pure-blood prejudices.
