Roch Voisine

Roch Voisine (born March 26, 1963) is an Acadian-Quebecois singer-songwriter, actor, radio and TV host. He writes and performs material in both English and French.

Born in Saint Basile, New Brunswick , Voisine wanted to be a professional hockey player until being injured. He graduated from the University of Ottawa in 1985.

In 1988 he hosted Top Jeunesse, a Télévision Quatre Saisons variety show for teenagers. In 1989, he played Dany Ross in the CBC television series He Shoots, He Scores.

In 1995 he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.

In December 2002, Voisine married Myriam St-Jean. On June 25, 2004, their son, Killian, was born. Before his marriage, however, Voisine was sometimes the target of rumours that he was gay. The rumour was also propagated on an out-take, leaked on the Internet, by Citytv Toronto news anchor Gord Martineau.
