River Ulhas is a river in the Indian state of Maharashtra originating in the Western Ghats. The river flows from east to west and empties into the Arabian Sea. At the mouth of the river the island of Salcette lies in which the metropolis of Mumbai lies on. The mouth of the river splits into the Thane creek and the Vasai creek, both which lie on seismic fault lines.
The exurb of Ulhasnagar lies on the banks of the river.
