RAF Finningley was a Royal Air Force station near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. It is currently being developed into an international airport to be named Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield.
It has served as a home to the Vulcan Bomber - a British long range, nuclear bomber, a navigational training school and a maintenance training school for the UK fleet of 'Sea King' search and rescue helicopters. It's runway is still one of the longest in the UK.
