Phyllida Law (born May 8 1932) is a British actress, born in Glasgow, Scotland.
Law has worked extensively in television, including appearences in Dixon of Dock Green and Rumpole of the Bailey. She was married to Eric Thompson until his death in 1982. Their two children Emma and Sophie Thompson are both actresses.
She has appeared in films such as Peter's Friends (1992), Much Ado About Nothing (1993) and Emma (1996), all with her daughter Emma, and Saving Grace (2000).
