Pachycephalosaurus

Pachycephalosaurus is a dinosaur of the family Pachycephalosauridae. (This is in the Ornithischia order.) Its name means "Thick headed reptile". It was a herbivorous creature, which lived in the late Cretaceous period.

Pachycephalosaurus was probably bipedal, and is famous for having a large, bony dome atop its skull, which could be over 6 inches thick. The purpose of the hard head is still not completely agreed on, many believe that it was used by males to head butt each other in contests for females. It may also have been used for defence from predators. Skeletons so come primarily from North America
