Outaouais is a region in Quebec. It includes the city of Gatineau. It is on the north side of the Ottawa River opposite the nation's capital, Ottawa.
Outaouais is also the name for the river (rivière des Outaouais), the term for someone from Ottawa, and used to refer to the Outaouais First Nation.
