Non-automatic squeeze

In contract bridge, a non-automatic squeeze is a squeeze which cannot be executed automatically: some guesswork is needed.

In order to gain the possible extra trick, one has to guess the order in which the cards have to be played. This is in contrast to an automatic squeeze in which the established trick becomes obvious. A good example of a non automatic squeeze is the criss-cross squeeze.
