Nick at Nite

Nick at Nite is an evening programming block broadcast over Nickelodeon Sundays - Thursdays from 9 PM – 6 AM and Fridays - Saturdays from 10 PM – 6 AM Eastern and Pacific Standard Time. Nickelodeon is known for its kids' shows during the day, while Nick-at-Nite appeals to adult audiences with a lineup of classic television; largely Paramount Pictures- and Viacom-owned syndicated sitcoms, shown with about about a ten-year lag.

The lineup now mostly consists of 1980s and 1990s hits such as The Cosby Show, Roseanne, Cheers, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Who's the Boss?. Nick at Nite also introduced Fatherhood, an animated series based on the book by Bill Cosby. Many current Nick at Nite viewers are adults who like to revisit the old sitcoms and wax nostalgic about the quality programming that came out of that time period.

Each show airs as a "Double Take"—two episodes back-to-back. Some of the shows, like Roseanne, are aired as two "Double Take" blocks, so four episodes are shown each night. Nick at Nite runs these shows seven nights per week.

Originally started in 1985, Nick-at-Nite has also spun off a niche network, TV Land, which features older sitcoms that were once on Nick at Nite... or still are, such as Cheers and All in the Family.
