Nagoya Railroad


Nagoya Railroad Co., Ltd. (名古屋鉄道株式会社, abbreviated as 名鉄 Meitetsu) is a railroad company operating around Aichi Prefecture and Gifu Prefecture of Japan. It is one of the oldest private railways in Japan, having been established in 1894.

It is known for the panorama car (パノラマカー) in which the front offers a wide view.

In the Tokai region, it is a central firm of the Meitetsu group (名鉄グループ) that is involved in the transportation industry, the retail trade, the service industry, and the real estate industry, etc.

The Meiji Mura is a corporate museum of Nagoya Railroad.
