King Magnus II of the Isle of Man is more commonly known by his nickname Magnus Barelegs. He was given this nickname due to his penchant for wearing kilts.
Magnus was a viking king who was exiled from Norway for opening the tomb of his father, Olaf II of Norway.
After his exile, Magnus conquered many islands until coming to the Isle of Man, where he built Peel Castle.
Historical accounts differ on how Magnus was eventually killed, but generally suggest he was killed when he attempted to invade Ireland.
