The Library is a level in the game Halo: Combat Evolved. It is a Flood-infested area on the Halo ring in which can be found the Index, required for initiating Halo's defense system firing sequence. Some consider this level to be aggravating, due to the difficulty of fighting the onslaughts of Flood.
Delta Halo Installation 05 also has a Library that contains an Index, but the player has to quickly reach it before the UNSC does with a gondola-elevator through its tunnels. When the player gets the Index, he is betrayed by Tartarus and he falls into a pit into the lair of Gravemind who interrogates both playable characters, John-117 and the Arbiter and sends them off to stop the Covenant in 2 separate missions: one on High Charity, the other on Delta Halo Installation 05.
