Lego Star Wars: The Video Game

Lego Star Wars: The Video Game is a video game based on the Star Wars-themed toy line by Lego, taking place during the prequel trilogy (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and the yet to be released Revenge of the Sith), although with some humouristic sidelines. Lego Star Wars was released on April 5, 2005, a full month before the final Star Wars film premiered, which surprised most people since the game contains a few spoilers about the movie.

Lego Star Wars: The Video Game was developed and published by Traveller's Tales and Giant Entertainment for the Xbox, PlayStation 2, and Windows. Griptonite Games developed the Game Boy Advance version. All versions were distributed on April 5, 2005 by Eidos Interactive.

Every playable character, modeled like actual Lego parts (but with far more mobility) has its own unique skills. The Jar Jar Binks character, for example, can jump higher than most characters, the infant Anakin Skywalker can crawl in narrow or small spaces where other characters are unable to go and the R2-D2 droids are able to hover long chasms. LEGO Star Wars also has a feature called 'free play', which enables the player to play the same level again, but with the ability to switch between characters and thus get into areas containing extras the player was unable to get before. The free play option will only appear when the player finishes a level.
