Kid Eternity (Christopher "Kit" Freeman) is a comic book superhero originally owned by Quality Comics and later acquired by DC Comics.
The character was originally a boy who was killed in an accident. Due to a supernatural mix-up, he was brought back to life for another seventy-five years with the mission of upholding good in the world. To that end, the boy gained the power to summon any historical or mythological figure who could be helpful to him.
DC also had the rights to the Marvel Family when they acquired Kid Eternity, and based on the fact that his last name was the same as that of Captain Marvel Jr. (Freddy Freeman), they were retconned as brothers, both living on Earth-S. Kid Eternity became a supporting character in Shazam!
In the 1990s, a different and darker version of the character was introduced in the mature-readers Vertigo imprint, first in a mini-series written by Grant Morrison, then a short-lived ongoing series written by Ann Nocenti. This version learned that he was unwittingly a servant for the supernatural Lords of Chaos and the figures he summoned were actually demons who assumed the form of the figures he desired.
He was killed by the sorcerer Mordru in the opening pages of JSA #1 (1999). No further exploits have been recorded as of 2005.
