Jacobethan

Jacobethan is a Revival style derived from the English Renaissance (1550 - 1625), with elements Elizabethan and Jacobean . Its main characteristics are rounded arches, lighter stone trims around windows and doors, steep roof gables, often terra-cotta brickwork, balustrades and parapets, pillars supporting porches and still the high chimneys as in the Elizabethan style.

The Jacobethan Revival took place mainly during the late 19th century and the first 20 years of the 20th century, and apart from its origins in the UK the style became popular both in Canada and almost every state of the United States during those periods. A key exponent of the style was T.G. Jackson.
