Itraconazole

Itraconazole (Sporanox®) is an antifungal agent that is prescribed to patients with fungal infections. The drug may be given orally or intravenously.

Locations of potential fungal infections:

• Central nervous system
• Skin
• Nails: onychomycosis
• Lungs
• Mouth
• Throat
• esophagus

Potential side effects:

• Liver damage
• Congestive Heart Failure

Contact your doctor if the following side effects are present as they may indicate a greater problem.

• nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• fatigue
• loss of appetite
• yellow skin (jaundice)
• yellow eyes
• itching
• dark urine
• pale stool
