Inverary Castle

Inverary Castle is a Norman-style castle located on the banks of Loch Fyne in Argyll, in the Scottish Highlands. It was commissioned in 1744 by Sir Duncan Campbell , Lord of Argyll, who moved the seat of the Chief of the Clan Campbell there from Lochow beside Loch Awe Ever since then, it has been home to the Chief of the Clan Campbell and the Lords (later Dukes) of Argyll. Today, the Thirteenth Duke of Argyll, Torquhil Ian Campbell, lives there.

In 1877, the castle caught fire and had to be rebuilt in areas.

The castle's focal point, the Armory Hall, has the highest ceiling in Scotland at 95 feet.
