The Indiana State Fair is held in Indianapolis, the state capital, usually in August. It is one of the largest of such fairs, which are held in many U.S. states in the summer or fall, usually to highlight aspects of the state's agriculture and history.
In 2004, 900,000 people attended the state fair. It will be held August 10-21 in 2005. The state fair buildings and grounds are used for a variety of other shows while the fair is not being held. The fairgrounds are on 38th Street and Fall Creek Parkway.
