In the Star Wars universe, the Imperial Academy was a military training program formed by the Galactic Empire for youth from across the galaxy who wanted to join the Imperial Military. It was located on Carida which was fanaticaly loyal to the Empire even after it splintered into warring factions. The best trainees are selected to become Stormtroopers.
Luke Skywalker eagerly wanted to join the Academy. However, his uncle always promised him "just one more year" to have him help with the harvest.
Future stormtroopers trekked across burning deserts,slogged through dense rain forests,trained on heaving seas,and endured frostbite at the polar ice caps.
The Imperial Academy was destroyed along with Carida,when Kyp Durron,searching for his brother Zeth,blew up Carida and Zeth with the impregnable Sun Crusher.
