Ignacio Agramonte y Loynáz (1841—1873) was a Cuban revolutionist, and played an important part in the Ten Years War.
Born in Puerto Principe (what is now Camagüey), he went to Havana to study law. When the insurrection against the Spanish broke out in 1868 he played a pivotal role in the uprising of the Camagüey district.
On February, 1869, he and Antonio Zambrana were elected secretaries to the provincial government, and he also became a member of the Cuban congress. He was among the signatories of the act that freed the slaves on the island. He resigned after Carlos Manuel de Céspedes was made president in the same year, as Agramonte had disagreements with him.
He went on to become Major-General of the forces in the Camagüey district, and he was eventually killed at the Battle of Jimaguayd, where he was struck by a stray bullet.
Both the airport and the central park in Camagüey are named after him, and his statue is situated in the central plaza.
