Hypocoristics for Spanish names

A hypocoristic is a pet name or term of endearment. In the context of people's given names, they are sometimes also referred to as a diminutive, a nickname, a pet name or "short for...". As in "Tony" is short for Antonio.

This page will collect hypocoristics for Spanish given names, from anywhere that the Spanish language is spoken. Almost any Spanish name can have a hypocoristic formed by adding/changing the ending to '-ito' for male names and '-ita' for female names. (This list will tend to exclude these more obvious hypocoristics and focus on other kinds.)

Note 1: Some names have more than one hypocoristic.

Note 2: In Spanish, double names or compounds (e.g. José María) can have their own hypocoristics distinct from those for the individual parts (e.g. Chema for José María, but Pepe for José and Mary for María).
