Hiromu Arakawa (荒川 弘, Arakawa Hiromu, born May 8, 1973) is a Japanese manga artist. She was born in Hokkaidō, Japan. Raised on a dairy farm, Arakawa learned a work ethic that would inspire the idea of "equivalent exchange" in her manga FullMetal Alchemist. Her self-portrait is a cow.
Arakawa is best known for the Fullmetal Alchemist series of manga and anime.
