Hans Dürer was born and died in Nuremberg. Hans Dürer became the court painter for Sigismund I of Poland. Hans Dürer as well as many other Nuremberg artists went to live and work in Kraków for some time, where there are still many of their artworks on display. His older brother was Albrecht Dürer, famous for his paintings and woodcuts.
