Hallam FM is the number one radio station in South Yorkshire and the North Midlands according to the latest RAJAR statistics, although it is often in close competition with BBC Radio 2. It broadcasts mainly contemporary music with some older influences relating to its thirty year history.
The station broadcasts on three frequencies in the area: 97.4 FM, 103.4 FM and 102.9 FM in Sheffield, Doncaster and Barnsley respectively. Almost the whole region is covered on 103.4 FM, and it is also available on DAB Digital radio and through live web streaming.
Competing local stations in the area include: Galaxy 105, BBC Radio Sheffield & Real Radio.
