In Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth, Haldir was lord of the Haladin of Brethil, and first child of Halmir . Haldir's siblings were Hareth, Hundar, and Hiril. He lived from ca. 415 to 471 First Age, and was killed in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad. Haldir married Glóredhel, the elder sister of Galdor, who married Haldir's sister Hareth.
As a son-in-law of Hador, he fostered Hareth's sons Huor and Hurin in Brethil, because Dorthonion was not thought safe enough after Dagor Bragollach.
Haldir obeyed the summons of Fingon and led a small detachment of Brethil warriors to the Nirnaeth, from which he did not return.
