Two ships have been named HMCS Toronto, after the city of Toronto, Ontario.
HMCS Toronto K538
- The first Toronto (K538) was a River-class frigate that served in the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Navy. The Toronto was commissioned in May of 1944 and served little over a year, being retired in November of 1945. In 1953, HMCS Toronto was refit and conversion to a Prestonian-class escort with designation FFE 319. Sold to the Royal Norwegian Navy in 1956 and sold for scrap in the mid 1970s.
