George Palmer Putnam is the name of two people, a man (1814 - 1872) and his grandson (1887 - 1950), who were both American publishers. The elder George Putnam was the father of Herbert Putnam, a noted librarian who served as Librarian of Congress. The younger George Putnam was married to Amelia Earhart in 1931.
