Fuengirola is a town on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain in the province of Málaga and the autonomous community of Andalusia. It is a major tourist resort on the Costa del Sol and home to a mediĉval Moorish fortress. During the Peninsular War, on October 15, 1810 the fortress was a place of the Battle of Fuengirola, in which approximately 200 Polish soldiers of the Duchy of Warsaw defeated the mixed Corps of Lord Blayney , numbering some 3000 British and Spanish soldiers.
