Plot

In an alternate present time, the Cold War never ended. The Soviet Union has beaten America to dropping the first Atomic Bomb and the Soviet Union never collapsed. Instead the entire world has fallen behind the Iron Curtain and the Soviet Union has taken to American shores to expand its empire. The first stop: New York City.

On a regular day; plumbers/brothers Christopher Stone and Troy Stone are on the job in the apartment of Isabella Angelina, leader of an anti-Soviet group, when all of a sudden helicopters start shooting into buildings and into the streets. He follows a old man into a hiding place.

Back on the surface, New York is now controlled by the Soviets. Regular newscasters are sent to Alaska for re-training and are replaced by a propaganda speaking lady. Areas in New York are made into make-shift bases (police station, harbor, theater, etc.). Civilians go into hiding. The US government and military is fractured, ineffective and is replaced by a pro-Soviet government. It is all the fault of General Tatarin and Colonel Bulba of the Red Army. The Freedom Fighters must now kick the Reds out of the city and America.

Gameplay

Unlike other third-person shooters, the game has a charisma meter. The more charisma that you have, the more people that you can recruit. You can recruit Urban Guerillas and reject Russian soldiers, up to a maximum of 12. You can command them to hide, get on mounted machine guns, and patrol areas; and can take them into battle, giving specific orders like "defend", "attack", and "follow me".
