Fra Bartolommeo (March 28, 1472 - October 31, 1517) is considered to be among the greatest of the Florentine Renaissance artists. He was originally known by the name of Baccio della Porta, taking the name Fra Bartolommeo in the year 1500 when he became a Dominican friar.
