FBi Radio is a community radio station in Sydney, Australia. It is run along a similar model to Melbourne's 3RRR, with presenters having autonomy over their slots. FBi Radio places a heavy emphasis on local alternative music: it has a policy that at least 50 per cent of its music content is to be Australian, of which at least half comes from Sydney musicians.
Although FBi Radio had made experimental broadcasts over some ten years, its permanent round-the-clock broadcast was officially launched on 94.5FM in late August 2003, after its organising group won a radio licence. Shortly afterward, they successfully fought off a takeover attempt by one of the losing bidders, a more commercially-oriented dance music station.
