The Executive Council of Alberta (commonly known as the cabinet) is made up of members of the Alberta Progressive Conservative Party which holds a majority of seats in the Legislative Assmebly of Alberta . The cabinet is appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta on the advice of the Premier. The current cabinet was sworn-in on November 24, 2004 following the 26th Alberta general election.
